If your weekend went anything like ours, it ended up being a little more rambunctious than it was relaxing …. and you lived an episode of Girls while spending a lot more time in a Fluxus onesie and wedges than you had ever imaged, but that’s a story for another day never. I think we all know that after a mayhem-filled weekend, come Monday morning it all shows in the face. There’s nothing chic about an hey look! she aged 10 years in two days flat! Monday morning make-over, so we’ve decided to share some of things we use to help keep us looking like we’re alive even when we’re ready for a 5 day hibernation. Besides, we got you into this mess with the Weekend Special, so we might as well help get everyone safely back out of it!
A weekend of bestie fun with Madison and Megan!
1. Smashbox Photo Finish More Than Primer Dark Spot Correcting – Available here
When your face is feeling a little rough, this Smashbox primer smooths things right out and keeps your make-up in place all day. It’s perfect for any accidental aging yourself by ten years emergencies because it’s formulated to instantly brighten the skin and reduce any fine lines. Plus over time it helps to reduce dark spots, which is a great bonus feature.
2. MAKE UP FOREVER HD Invisible Cover Foundation – Available here
If it’s good enough for photo-shoots, it’s definitely good enough for an emergency facial repair. Trust. Even in the most unflattering of sideways natural light situations (worst), this foundation will hold your cover. Ha … that pun was totally not intended, but definitely gave me a mild thrill.
3. Madison Blake’s Pick: Benefit Cosmetics Watt’s Up! – Available here
This highlighter simulates an inner glow without being too shiny or sparkly. Use on your cheekbones and around the eyes.
3. Madison Blake’s Pick: Tart Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in “Dollface” – Available here
This blush is a highly pigmented pink and will bring a rosy glow to all complexions.
5. Yves St. Laurent ROUGE VOLUPT: Silky Sensual Radiant Lipstick in “Creamy Neutral Beige” – Available here
A very rich and luxurious nude lipstick is a great option for these kind of days and this YSL option fills all of those requirements. This shade will keep your look cohesive and compliment all of the the highlighting and glowing skin and also add a slightly expensive element. Yes, YSL lipsticks somehow give off an expensive vibe, but not in the plastic surgery kind of way. Is this making sense anymore?
6. MAC Zoom Lash Mascara in “Zoom Black” – Available here
Finally, a really really good mascara. MAC zoom lash is sort of a fool-proof option that both of us always fall back to at some point. Layer this on for bold, stand-out lashes to really open up your eyes.
7. Gucci Flora Eau de Parfum – Available here
To really pull yourself together, we suggest a great perfume and something not too playful. We are attempting to evoke a sense of (faux) responsibility after all. Inspired by princesses of the past, present, and future, Gucci flora is a sophisticated and subtle floral scent. And let’s be serious, anyone who smells like a Gucci princess can’t be questioned. Period. The end.
Hope you’re Monday is all things fabulous,
xxMegan West
